Charity

If you are Catholic, aged 16 to 24 and planning a charitable project or a visit to Lourdes as a helper, then you should take a look at the Catenian Bursary website. Click here for more information; we may be able to help you in funding your project.

As a Catenian, there are several areas in which we focus our support to charities:

1 - We are encouraged to give to a Bursary Fund which supports young Catholics in their charitable work. This fund is administered nationally by the Catenian Association. Details can be found here. Members of the West Surrey Circle should contact their Charity Officer for more details on how to contribute, or take a look at the Bursary Fund page in the Circle Members Area of this website.

2 - Our Circle President each year nominates one or more charities for which we raise funds through our raffles at each meeting or collections at the events we run. These charities have ranged from a local hospice to Padre Pio and from HCPT to our current support for Mary Help of Christians Primary School in Paarl, South Africa.

3. Whatever difficulties you face in life there will be members and their wives committed to helping you. Should a member suffer financial difficulties there is a benevolence fund to provide assistance. Even after you have died Catenians will continue to pray for you and all deceased members at every meeting and at Masses through the year. If you are a member of the West Surrey Circle please take a look in the Circle Members Area for more information.
