COVID-19 - Impact on Circle activities
It will come as no surprise that all West Surrey Circle upcoming physical meetings and events are cancelled until further notice. John Power has arranged with the Golf Club to cancel our meetings/meals for the foreseeable future. John says that the President's Charity will be closed as it stands at the figure of £2312.00, an excellent sum even allowing for missing out on the President's Dinner contributions. Thank you all for your support, the money will go to President Chris Smith's Cystic Fibrosis charities.
Council have decided that existing Circle officers for year 2019/20 will remain in post until the next physical Circle meeting is held.
Council will continue to meet regularly using Zoom for virtual meetings. Also, from May 2020 we re-started our Circle meetings using Zoom. The relevant link to join our virtual Circle meetings will be provided to brothers in the Circle by email.
It is proposed that a ‘buddy’ system is adopted whereby members of the same parish check up on each other and report back to Brother Secretary. The list of members association with parishes can be found here. Where there is only one member he should make an individual report monthly. Hopefully, everyone is managing with supplies or medication but if anyone is unable or having difficulty to get supplies etc please let his ‘buddy’ or our Circle Welfare officer know so that help can be sought as soon as practicable.
Those of you that were booked to go to the Theatre at Sonning will see that Tony Fisher has sent out a cancellation notice; the Mill is holding credits to be used for a performance once normal service resumes. Further details can be found here
If anyone has any comments or concerns please contact John Hughes.
